Moose Tooth Pizza (Alaska) Highest grossing single-unit independent pizzeria in the nation $6 million
The "go to" eating establishment in Anchorage Alaska. Best pizza and in town, great family and friends atmosphere, great service. It is located in midtown and easy to find. It can be a bit loud on the weekends and weeknights, but it is all friendly conversation. Always busy and sometimes hard to find parking-go earlier than later, especially on weekends.
Plenty of variety, no extra charge for 1/2 & 1/2. Waitresses and waiters friendly. Great atmosphere. The root beer and cream soda go especially well with their meatball pizza.
The specialty pizzas are good like the Solstice. It is fun to build your own pizza. A favorite is thin crust, pesto sauce, cheese, buffalo chicken, spinach, roasted garlic and sun dried tomatoes. The ingredients are fresh and there are no restrictions. They have a gluten-free crust as well.
If you’ve heard of one restaurant in Alaska through the so-called grapevine, chances are it’s Moose’s Tooth. Situated in Anchorage, this place is widely known for having the best pizza in the state, maybe even the country. That’s a pretty tall claim but it lives up to the hype. The vibe is laid back, the staff is warm and welcoming, and the service is top-notch. Try the Thai and Backpacker.
Sit down to an amazing decor, waiter and incredible aroma! The appetizer bread sticks were served with garlic marinara that are great.
Hungarian Mushroom soup is phenomenal. Wait staffs wear tie dye shirts. Try the avalanche pizza.

For visitors who tour Anchorage, most of the action is concentrated in the very compact and very accessible downtown core (W. First to W. Ninth avenues), but there are also plenty of attractions beyond the city center. Included here are things to do and great places to shop and eat in downtown, midtown, south, east and west Anchorage.
A great place to spend a rainy day while touring Anchorage Alaska is the Bear Tooth Theatrepub, at 1230 West 27th Ave. Buy a $4 movie ticket then head to the counter to order freshly prepared food (try the Turnagain tofu burrito, Avalanche pizza or seared AK salmon tacos—three of our favorites), take the day-glow-orange numbered cone you are handed, find a seat inside the theatre, and wait for your meal to arrive and the movie to start. Order a root beer with your meal, or head to the draft beer and wine bar inside. Also in this building is the Bear Tooth Grill, a restaurant that routinely appears on Best Places to Eat in Anchorage lists.
